Synergy Attends The 2017 MMPC

MMSDC logo 2016.JPGThursday, May 4th was a cold and rainy day outside, but inside Cobo Hall, things were looking bright as ever. The Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, a staple of the Michigan business community and champion of diversity, played host to the 40th installment of the Michigan Minority Procurement Conference and it an event to remember. The Walls of Cobo Hall echoed with the sounds of jubilation and progress and companies from around our great state and beyond came together to accomplish a common goal, Support, and champion the success of minority businesses.

The morning started off with a bang as Michelle Robinson, the MMSDC president addressed the eager crowd and opened the Opportunity Fair with the ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony. What followed that was a day filled with forging new connections, rekindling old ones, and many businesses establishing an appreciation for the hard work of the minority business community. Synergy continued our tradition of having a very strong presence at the event by not only having five employee’s present, one of which was our wonderful CEO Mr. Sridha Guduguntla but also had one of the more impressive MBE display booth at the show. This display complete with boards depicting Synergy’s new diverse innovative solutions, and a full on multimedia display helped to show others that not only are they a prominent player in the IT staffing space, but also a force to be reckoned with when it comes to innovative business solutions.

The highlight of the event would without a doubt end up being the sheer amount of new connections Synergy was able to make as a result of our company’s strong display, and the amazing effort of our employees. With follow-up appointments trending into the double digits it was safe to say this event, as is the case every year, was an astounding success for Synergy Computer Solutions. We look forward to carrying this momentum into the NMPC this fall which will also be hosted by COBO Hall in downtown Detroit. Synergy was happy to be able to be a part of such a wonderful event, and looks forward to representing the MMSDC for many years to come!

Synergy Attends the MMSDC Kick Off

Synergy Computer Solutions has been a proud member of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) since 2000 and every year we look forward to the annual Kick-Off meeting. Michelle Robinson, the head of the MMSDC, lead an enthusiastic group of attendees in taking an in-depth look at what to expect in 2017.. At the forefront of the conversation was Project One.

 

Synergy Computer Solutions has a longstanding and successful history with Project One. Through Project One, Synergy was able to establish many relationships it still maintains today, leveraged business that was extremely beneficial to our company, and gained insights that have proved to be invaluable. As a Project One alumnus, Synergy’s own Leslie Knitter, has gone on to tutor other former and current members on how to efficiently and effectively utilize the program.

 

This new installment of the decade old program focuses on connecting certified vendors with new vendors and helping them become more successful members of the MMSDC. This new focus will seek to energize the program, boost corporate engagements for CEOs, and attempt to connect these new enrollees with various chambers of commerce.

 

Synergy is optimistic about the potential of participating in the newest round of Project One. Seeing how beneficial it was for our company the first time around, as alumni, we will continue to be an outspoken proponent of the program. We look forward to the next event and will continue to do everything we can to uphold the mission of the MMSDC.

Synergy Supports the NMSDC

cvja7iixeaqywjrMinority Business Enterprises (MBEs) in the United States are part of the under lying fabric of the economy.  By bringing these businesses together, we are able to help strengthen the minority business community and propel our interests forward. The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) helps to facilitate all of these efforts and encourages MBEs to help one another while contributing to the overall economy. During the week of October 23rd the NMSDC did just that by hosting their annual Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange in Chicago, Illinois. Synergy’s Jeff Petrusha, Bruce Gracz, and Matt Petrusha participated in the event and had a great and productive time.

Synergy Computer Solutions had high hopes for Monday at the Business Opportunity Exchange and we were certainly not disappointed. From the ribbon cutting ceremony to the power lunch, there was interaction, cohesion, and comradery as far as the eye could see. The hall looked wonderful, the speakers were charismatic, and above all there were multiple chances for deals to be made, and opportunities for suppliers to find new inroads with major companies both domestically and abroad.

Synergy hit the floor running at the opportunity exchange, visiting all our old friends, and even making some new ones.  A long day of mingling included stops at old favorites such as FCA, Toyota, and Baxter international as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield, CNA Insurance, and Dakkota Integrated Systems, and more. The folks from Synergy were busy from morning till evening at McCormick place and could not have been happier for the opportunity to connect with new MBEs and old friends. One thing is for sure, Synergy is always glad to do our part to solve IT problems in the MBE community and support the NMSDC.

Matt’s Five Year Anniversary

chicago teamAt Synergy Computer Solutions we pride ourselves on our positive working environment and loyalty to our employees. Synergy believes that when you invest in your employees, they will invest in you. That is why we are excited to celebrate Matt Petrusha’s 5-year anniversary with Synergy.

Matt’s Synergy story is a unique one in that it began before he even entered the work force. For two straight summers in college, Matt interned for us working closely with accounting to learn the financial aspect of the company. During this time Matt became more familiar with our processes as they pertained to fiscal procedure and processes. He did such an outstanding job that when the expansion of the Chicago office coincided with his graduation, Synergy jumped at the opportunity. “I was looking to get out of Michigan, and Chicago offered a different vibe and the big city feel I was looking for.”

Since then Matt has not looked back. Embracing the challenging yet diverse business environment that Chicago provides, Matt has found success in the Second City. After starting as a Sales Associate, Matt proved he was a major asset to the Chicago office and the Synergy organization. After two years of sustained success he was promoted to his current role of Account Executive. Matt could not be happier at Synergy Computer Solutions, citing that he thoroughly enjoys working with Bruce Gracz, Area Sales Manager, and Sridhar Reddy, Director of Global Deliver and Solutions. “They have been great mentors.”

Matt continued, “Bruce and Reddy have instilled the confidence in me to learn and work on my own. The entire management team from top to bottom is very accessible and I love that about Synergy.”

In the future, Matt would like to see Synergy Chicago become an office structured much like the Detroit HQ office. At the rate he and the team out in Illinois are going, that goal could very well be in reach. Congratulations Matt, thanks for all you do, and here’s to many more successful years to come!
