Synergy Supports the NMSDC

cvja7iixeaqywjrMinority Business Enterprises (MBEs) in the United States are part of the under lying fabric of the economy.  By bringing these businesses together, we are able to help strengthen the minority business community and propel our interests forward. The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) helps to facilitate all of these efforts and encourages MBEs to help one another while contributing to the overall economy. During the week of October 23rd the NMSDC did just that by hosting their annual Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange in Chicago, Illinois. Synergy’s Jeff Petrusha, Bruce Gracz, and Matt Petrusha participated in the event and had a great and productive time.

Synergy Computer Solutions had high hopes for Monday at the Business Opportunity Exchange and we were certainly not disappointed. From the ribbon cutting ceremony to the power lunch, there was interaction, cohesion, and comradery as far as the eye could see. The hall looked wonderful, the speakers were charismatic, and above all there were multiple chances for deals to be made, and opportunities for suppliers to find new inroads with major companies both domestically and abroad.

Synergy hit the floor running at the opportunity exchange, visiting all our old friends, and even making some new ones.  A long day of mingling included stops at old favorites such as FCA, Toyota, and Baxter international as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield, CNA Insurance, and Dakkota Integrated Systems, and more. The folks from Synergy were busy from morning till evening at McCormick place and could not have been happier for the opportunity to connect with new MBEs and old friends. One thing is for sure, Synergy is always glad to do our part to solve IT problems in the MBE community and support the NMSDC.

Synergy Attends FCA Matchmaker

There are few guarantees that come with fall in Michigan, however some things are certain: football will be played in Ann Arbor and East Lansing, the weather will be unpredictable, the colors will be immaculate and small and medium businesses will descend on the FCA International Technology Center for the annual FCA Matchmaker event. 2016 was no exception – the event was held on September 16th and had a wonderful turnout.

Synergy Computer Solutions has been attending the FCA Matchmaker for over a decade and knows all too well how valuable the event can be. “We are always excited for the Matchmaker, the connections and face time you get with other suppliers is invaluable,” said Leslie Knitter, Synergy’s Business Development Manager.

This year Synergy was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of displaying at the exhibition. With multiple team members in attendance, including CEO Sridhar Guduguntla, VP Jeff Petrusha, and Sridhar Reddy, Director of Global Delivery and Solutions, our company was prepared to have a productive day filled with networking and connections.

Synergy utilized its digital media display to successfully draw traffic, and even conducted an IPAD giveaway for one lucky attendee. Synergy was not only conducting business at its booth, but was all over the FCA Technology Center. Synergy was able to promote its strategic staffing, its SharePoint solutions, and even its upcoming webinar to businesses from multiple verticals and diverse backgrounds.

Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) events are very valuable to Synergy, and the business community at large. “We ( MBEs) are a tight knit community and making sure to do what you can to ensure that community’s success is key,” stated Tommaso D’Andreta, Synergy’s Marketing Associate. This year Synergy certainly has done their part. Attending multiple minority events, including the the Michigan Minority Procurement Conference, in addition to multiple other smaller local shows, Synergy has remained active in the MBE community.

FCA has been and continues to be a major player in the advancement of Minority Business Enterprises. No matter if it’s hosting business opportunity fairs, or holding it’s suppliers accountable to their minority spend expectations, FCA continues to help provide minority businesses a level playing field in the community, and Synergy could not be more thankful for the opportunity.

Synergy & The Continuous Improvement Tool

picture2These days we often see technology present in an astounding variety of verticals. In fact, there are very few industries that have not been totally revolutionized by the adaptation and utilization of big data and data analytics. One industry in particular has hesitated a little when it comes to adopting leading edge technology, and yet this industry could benefit exponentially from an updated process.

Manufacturing often involves machinery and hordes of heavy duty equipment. The operation, at its core, is all about getting the highest yield of quality products out of the factory in the shortest amount of time. Interestingly enough, outside of major operations, many producers do not have the technology in place to monitor the output, track safety, and to measure the production metrics of their operation effectively.

The flip side to this coin is that few industries have manufacturing’s depth and breadth of quality control programs, be it Six Sigma, ISO, WCM, Lean or Continuous Improvement. We frequently see examples of the manufacturing industry attempting to do better by its products and its employees so why, with all these measures in place, is it that so few have looked into revamping the process and procedures within Quality Control?

Many companies simply have limited options and resources to track information and data dedicated to improving the QC process, that is, until now. Synergy Computer Solutions has infused technology into the realm of manufacturing and introduced a huge improvement to the Continuous Improvement process. We present to you the Continuous Improvement Tool, (CIT). This SharePoint-developed application encompasses everything a manufacturer needs to track, implement, and monitor quality control programs and derive useful reports all while being housed on the Microsoft 365 cloud.

The Synergy CIT can save customers 160 hours a month or more by introducing automation into the world of Continuous Improvement. Our custom SharePoint application allows companies to choose up to nine measurable areas. Within these nine areas, the CIT will produce dozens of forms including three separate types of Kaizens and even forms centered on safety quality and logistics. The program also generates effective and useful individual reports, which can be invaluable in an audit or quality control situation. All of this information is searchable and can be accessed remotely via the Microsoft 365 cloud.

Synergy Attends ChallengeHER Workshop

20th AnniversarySynergy Computer Solutions is always active in the Metro Detroit community. As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) we work hard to further the movement of women in technology and advancing in other verticals within the workforce. This past week Synergy’s Rene’ Bryant represented our organization at the ChallengeHER summit at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. ChallengeHer focuses on opportunities for women in federal contracting. The idea behind the program is to level the playing field and assist women in competing for government contracts. The group accomplishes this goal by familiarizing its participants with various programs such as the Women Owned Small Business Set Aside and educating individuals on the finer aspects of obtaining a government contract.  The August 9th event was no exception.

The early part of the morning was spent discussing how to create set-asides through utilizing WOSB with Pamela Thompson of the Procurement Center of the U.S. Small Business Association. This session was followed up with an amazing panel discussing working with federal buyers.  The three person panel consisting of the aforementioned Pamela Thompson, Bonita Carroll (Deputy for Small Business, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), and Jeanne Schabath, (Small Business Senior Buyer, General Dynamics Land Systems) all helped answer any questions event participants had about how to deal with, how to research for, and how to effectively market to government entities in order to win  a contract.

With multiple representatives from various local government agencies in attendance, the ChallengeHER event was also a useful networking event for all of the ladies in attendance. All in all, Synergy had a wonderful time at the seminar and would like to commend the sponsors of the event both locally and nationally for putting on such a value-added production. Supporting the advancement of women in government contracting? WE DO THAT!

Matt’s Five Year Anniversary

chicago teamAt Synergy Computer Solutions we pride ourselves on our positive working environment and loyalty to our employees. Synergy believes that when you invest in your employees, they will invest in you. That is why we are excited to celebrate Matt Petrusha’s 5-year anniversary with Synergy.

Matt’s Synergy story is a unique one in that it began before he even entered the work force. For two straight summers in college, Matt interned for us working closely with accounting to learn the financial aspect of the company. During this time Matt became more familiar with our processes as they pertained to fiscal procedure and processes. He did such an outstanding job that when the expansion of the Chicago office coincided with his graduation, Synergy jumped at the opportunity. “I was looking to get out of Michigan, and Chicago offered a different vibe and the big city feel I was looking for.”

Since then Matt has not looked back. Embracing the challenging yet diverse business environment that Chicago provides, Matt has found success in the Second City. After starting as a Sales Associate, Matt proved he was a major asset to the Chicago office and the Synergy organization. After two years of sustained success he was promoted to his current role of Account Executive. Matt could not be happier at Synergy Computer Solutions, citing that he thoroughly enjoys working with Bruce Gracz, Area Sales Manager, and Sridhar Reddy, Director of Global Deliver and Solutions. “They have been great mentors.”

Matt continued, “Bruce and Reddy have instilled the confidence in me to learn and work on my own. The entire management team from top to bottom is very accessible and I love that about Synergy.”

In the future, Matt would like to see Synergy Chicago become an office structured much like the Detroit HQ office. At the rate he and the team out in Illinois are going, that goal could very well be in reach. Congratulations Matt, thanks for all you do, and here’s to many more successful years to come!
